This is the shape of a typical first project.

The situation

A cleaning company gets around 20 quote requests a week. They come in through the website form, Instagram messages, and the phone. Whoever is free answers them — usually at night.

Week one

I follow one request end to end. Where it lands, who touches it, how long before the customer hears back. We find the average reply takes most of a day, and a good number never turn into a real quote at all.

Week two
